Doug Haines is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. He has shown extensively in solo and group shows as well as juried and charity exhibitions. He has had a studio in Guelph for 25 years.

Doug has concentrated on expressionistic abstraction for the last 14 years. His current works are non-objective, lacking literal narrative subject. The subject is colour, texture, tone, and composition. The abstract work focuses on the act of painting.
